Library Opening Hours

In line with Stage 4 restrictions across Metropolitan Melbourne; Our Broadmeadows, Docklands, Essendon and Richmond Library Spaces will now be closed until further notice. 

But don't worry- we have got you covered! We are still here to support you through your studies. 

We have the following services available to you: Live-chat with a librarian, log-in assistance and password resets, access to databases (including video streaming), access to our e-books, subject guides, renewal of your loans via email and phone and lots more coming soon.

Ebook Central

Software for accessing eBooks   

  • Adobe Digital Editions (ADE) is designed specifically for reading ebooks. In order to download and read Ebook Central ebooks offline, you must first have ADE installed. You can download this software from the ADE website.
  • You will need to set up an Adobe ID when installing the software.
  • Patrons using hand-held devices can download and read Ebook Central content via the free Adobe Digital Editions app.
  • Available from the iTunes store for Apple devices, or from Google Play for Android devices.
  • If you are having difficulties downloading an ebook to a mobile device, we recommend you try using the Google Chrome browser.
  • In addition to these options, all portable devices with browser support can access Ebook Central and Read Online via the web.

Microsoft Office 365 for current students

Microsoft Office 365 is available free to current Kangan Institute students. It includes Word, PowerPoint and Excel. 

To sign up you must use your Kangan Institute student email account. (studentID@student.kangan.edu.au)

Go to the Office 365 for Education page and enter your student email address, then click on Get started.
